Fascynacja i lęk społeczny a rozwój technologiczny końca XX wieku, na podstawie „Summa Technologiae” Stanisława Lema, trylogii filmowej „Matrix” i „OK Computer” zespołu Radiohead

Abstrakt

This work aims to present the topic of digitalization and its social consequences. The author sets out to examine the origins of this process, focusing on how technological developments have impacted society at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries. The analysis is based on three main aspects: The works of Stanisław Lem – the author will juxtapose the writer’s scientific perspective, expressed in works such as “Summa Technologiae,” with his literary visions of the future, revealing both his fascination and anxieties related to technological developments. The “Matrix” trilogy – the influence of this film on society’s perception of technology after 2000 will be discussed, as well as its roots in popular culture and among fans who seek parallels between the film’s vision and contemporary reality. The album “Ok Computer” by Radiohead – an interpretation of this 1997 album will be presented, which, despite its technological title, addresses deeper issues of alienation, social criticism, and existential reflections in the context of increasing digitization.
