Abstrakt

This article reflects on the place of dance – particularly professional ballroom dancing – in the media, asking whether dance remains a taboo subject in contemporary media coverage. The aim of the work is to examine how the media and cinema influence the perception of dance, and how far this image differs from the reality of the dance community.
