The regulation of the President of the Republic of 27 October 1933 was the first legal act that unified the catalogue of disciplinary penalties applied to notaries. Its introduction was extremely important, especially considering such an important professional group. The research problem presented in the work is to present the development of the process of creating disciplinary norms included in the title regulation and an attempt to assess them as effective and adequate. The article also shows the process of previous consultations with notarial chambers and reviews selected cases of misconduct committed by those practicing the profession in question. The work ends with a summary with the most important conclusions. The text uses relevant literature on the subject and other sources.
