Abstract
The article presents the philosophy of the heart as a central current of the Ukrainian intellectual tradition, tracing its development from biblical and patristic sources through hesychastic spirituality and Baroque mysticism to its rational and metaphilosophical reinterpretations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The author examines how the concept of the heart became the foundation of Ukrainian cordocentrism a philosophical framework that unites the spiritual, cognitive, and moral dimensions of the human being. Particular attention is given to the thought of Hryhorii Skovoroda and Pamfil Jurkevych, who endowed the category of the heart with anthropological, epistemological, and metaphilosophical significance. The philosophy of the heart is presented as an alternative to Western rationalism, emphasizing the unity of reason and spiritual experience as well as the integral character of human cognition. In conclusion, the article interprets the philosophy of the heart as a category of cultural identity crucial for understanding Ukrainian spirituality, culture, and contemporary humanistic reflection.
