
In the history of the development of St. Paul`s of the Cross vocation one can distinguish several successive moments: his vocation to life dedicated solely to God, the vocation to gather companions, the vocation to the priesthood, the vocation to establish the Congregation of the Passionists. The study discusses the issue of the development of St. Paul`s vocation to community understood as fraternal community and the community itself preceding the formal aspect of its affirmation as a religious order.
