
The article undertakes a scientific reflection on the sign of peace in Christian liturgy, its biblical and theological roots. In a historical perspective, the author analyzes the evolution of the gesture of the sign of peace, showing its changing forms and meaning. The text is of a review nature and refers, among others, to the Instruction Redemptionis Sacramentum (25.03.2004) and the Implementing Provisions of the Polish Episcopate to the Instruction of the Congregation for the Sacraments and Divine Worship Inaestimabile Donum (11.12.1980).
