
The aim of the article was to prove that the street poll, as a separate journalistic genre, is an important media form and requires a lot of commitment on the part of the person constructing it. The publication presents own research based on answers given by journalists from public media – TVP INFO channel and The First Programme of Polish Radio. The article consists of three parts: the first contains a theoretical analysis of the foundations of journalistic genres. The second part is a detailed discussion of the typologies of electronic media adopted by media experts, taking into account the division into information and journalistic genres. In the third part, the survey is treated as a separate journalistic genre, which is treated by most researchers who include it in their analyses as one of the varieties of the interview.
