
The aim of the article is to analyse a newly established compensation system, which has been replacing provincial commissions for evaluating medical events (medical malpractice boards) since late 2023. The new set of regulations ushered in by the system are based solely on administrative proceedings, thus creating a scheme focused on compensation funds. The Patient Ombudsman, as their administrator, offers administrative services and acts as the authority responsible for the out-of-court compensation system.
