The article discusses the trials that took place in 1936–1938 before the courts in Vilnius (which was part of Poland at that time). The accused was Ignacy Zagórski, who practiced as an advocate in Vilnius. His public and political activities were connected with initiatives implemented by the Vilnius communist groups. According to judgments of these courts, advocate Zagórski cannot be said to have been involved in anti-state activities to the detriment of the interests of the Republic of Poland. Nevertheless, his activities and those of other local lawyers, in terms of supporting the communist movement, certainly require further in-depth research, including historical and legal research based on the history of the Vilnius region.
