The paper presents the problem of specialisation within the legal profession, recognising both its positive aspects as well as the possible negative impact.
The considerations I make will also include a comparison of the regulation of legal specialisation in Poland to the regulations in this field in England, Wales and Scotland. The purpose of the study is therefore to attempt to present a solution to this problem: is there a need for Polish professional specialisation in the legal profession? In view of the foregoing, the following thesis can be put forward: lawyers need to specialise because it boosts the quality of services provided. In order to verify the thesis, a pilot preliminary survey was also carried out among Polish lawyers, especially advocates and trainee advocates, on a total sample of 105 people.
