Abstract

The article provides an analysis of papal decisions collected in the Decretals of Gregory IX, which are part of the Corpus Iuris Canonici. The gathered documents broadly address the issue of the indissolubility of marriage, as well as the consequences arising from the existence of the impedimentum ligaminis. The analysis also includes commentaries and glosses by medieval canonists, which help to better understand the referenced cases and the ambiguities or doubts they raised.
