The article analyses the impact of suspension of the limitation period on the moment when the limitation period of at least two years expires. The aim of the arguments is to determine the moment when the claims to which Article 118, second sentence, of the Civil Code applies become time-barred, in a situation where the running of the period was suspended pursuant to Article 121 of the Civil Code. Such a suspension happens when mediation is undertaken or when an application is filed for a request for a settlement attempt (conciliation hearing), when the mediation (conciliation proceedings) ended in a different calendar year than that in which it was commenced.
