Abstrakt

The escalation of the war in Ukraine on 24 February 2022 triggered one of the fastest growing humanitarian emergencies in recent history. Hungary is both a transit country and a destination for people fleeing conflict in Ukraine. Central and local government institutions, civil society, and non-governmental organizations have taken on the task of providing essential support to refugees arriving from Ukraine. The purpose of the paper is to show how Hungary has dealt with the new migration situation and also what policy Hungary is pursuing towards Russia and Ukraine.
