Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • I declare that the deposited article has no signs of plagiarism, i.e. it is a work that in no way constitutes an infringement of any existing license or copyright within the meaning of the Act of February 4, 1994, on Copyright and Related Rights (i.e. OJ. 2006, No. 90, item 631) applicable to all or part of the work. It does not violate personal rights protected by the provisions of applicable law and does not contain data and information that he could have obtained by unauthorized means.
  • I declare that the article is a work of art, and my rights to it are not restricted.
  • I certify that the submitted article has not been published before and has not been submitted for review in another scientific journal.
  • I declare that the article was prepared in accordance with the guidelines for the author posted on the website of the journal Current Problems of Forensic Science at the indicated link and that I am aware that failure to comply with these guidelines may result in rejection of the text by the Editor for formal reasons (internal review).
  • I declare that in my work, I have identified all persons who contributed to its creation and that among its authors, no persons did not make a significant contribution to its creation. Thus, I exclude implicit authorship, apparent authorship and courtesy authorship in my article. I am also aware of the legal and scientific consequences of certifying untruths.
  • I declare that I have disclosed all relevant funding sources for the deposited article.
  • I hereby declare that I transfer the author’s economic rights to the work I am depositing in this form to the Publisher Polish Forensic Association. The transfer of copyrights to the submitted work is carried out in all fields of exploitation, in particular, those listed in Article 50 of the Law on Copyright and Related Rights: 1. In terms of fixation and reproduction of the work - production of copies of the work by a specific technique, including printing, reprography, magnetic recording and digital technique. 2. In terms of circulation of the original or copies on which the work was fixed - marketing, lending or renting the original or copies. 3. With regard to the distribution of the work by means other than those specified in Section. 2 - public performance, exhibition, display, reproduction, as well as broadcasting and re-broadcasting, as well as making the work available to the public so that anyone can have access to it at a time and place of their choosing. The Publisher’s use of the work in the fields of exploitation specified above is not limited in time, quantity and territory.

REGULATIONS

PUBLISHING PAPERS IN “Current Problems of Forensic Science”

  1. Problemy Współczesnej Kryminalistyki (PWK) is a yearly scientific periodical by the Polish Forensic Association and the Department of Forensic Science at the University of Warsaw.
  2. Current Problems of Forensic Science publishes the following papers: theoretical, experimental, synthesizing and analytical and case studies in the field of forensic science and related fields, as well as reviews and reports of conferences, conventions and scientific meetings.
  3. The text of the work should be written in a standardized font (Times New Roman, size 12), one-sided, on A-4 format sheets, with margins of 2.5 cm on the left and 2.5 cm on the right, with one and a half line spacing (30 lines per page). The notation should be made in basic typeface without distinctions.
  4. Theoretical studies should not exceed 20, and case studies should not exceed 15 typewritten pages, including figures, tables, a list of references and an abstract.
  5. Submitted works are peer-reviewed.
  6. On the first page, before the actual text of the paper, the name of the author(s), affiliation, ORCID number and the paper’s title in Polish and English should be included. This also applies to articles written in a language other than Polish.  Only works written in Polish or English are accepted for publication.  Submissions in another language are accepted with an English translation.
  7. The paper should be concluded with keywords (5 to 7) and an abstract in Polish and English, not exceeding 15 typed lines (Times New Roman, size 11 with one line spacing).
  8. The number of tables and figures should be limited to the minimum necessary for understanding the text.
  9. Figures and tables are designated by Arabic numbering.
  10. Footnotes should include the first letter of the name of the authors of the paper, the title of the journal, and sequentially - the year, volume number and pages of the paper. For book items, provide the full title of the work, publisher, year and place of publication.  Footnotes are placed at the bottom of the page on which the footnote is referenced.
  11. At the end of the paper, a bibliography should be included, including the last name and first letter of the first name of the author(s) and the data contained in the footnotes, without page numbers. The bibliography should be arranged in alphabetical order by author’s name.
  12. The editors reserve the right to make necessary stylistic corrections and abbreviations in work without agreement with the Author.
  13. No royalties are paid for papers published in Current Problems of Forensic Science. Current Problems of Forensic Science is an Open Access journal.  All published articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-Use-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) license http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/, so that third parties may copy and distribute the material in any medium or format and derive from the material, provided that the original work is properly cited.
  14. Authors submit a paper for publication, along with a signed statement, which can be found on the PTK website: http://kryminalistyka.pl/pwk/
  15. At the end of the work should include the e-mail address, telephone number and home address of the Authors to which correspondence will be addressed.
  16. The paper should be formatted according to the article structure template submitted for publication in PWK.
  17. Works that do not meet the conditions described above will not be developed until the author has made the necessary additions and corrections.
  18. Works not selected for publication are not returned to the authors.

Privacy Statement

The operator of the website operating under the domain ojs.academicon.pl is P.W. Idealit Robert Kryński based in Lublin, Heleny Modrzejewskiej 13, with tax ID number: 7122638150, REGON no: 060483368.  The service operates, or a number of websites are operated on its behalf, of which a select few allow users to register or provide personal information.  Registration may be required to access certain features or promotions.  This Privacy Policy contains information on how the data collected by the Service is used and how to contact us if you have questions or concerns.

All data and information on portal users are subject to legal protection in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act, as well as other regulations.  The service administrator and owner of the portal have taken measures to protect them and their privacy.  This document presents the scope and principles of collecting and processing information about the service users.

  1. Scope of data collected and processed.

a) personal data

We collect only the data necessary for the proper performance of the services provided by the Service.  There are two categories of data collected, basic data and enhanced data.  In terms of master data, we only collect and process the following user data:

  • name or name,
  • e-mail address, phone number,
  • ORCID,

these data are not subject to any verification;

extended data (in addition to the above data):

  • residential address,
  • PESEL no,
  • in the case of legal entities, sole proprietors or other organizational units - in addition to the company’s name, address and tax identification number (NIP/VAT).

Provision of the above data is voluntary, but it is necessary to perform a certain category of services provided.

b) computer information (usage data) for statistical purposes

All personal data collected from Users is transmitted to the system using a secure SSL protocol encrypted with a 128-bit key.  This does not apply to the primary data collected.

All information about Users is stored on the Service servers and protected from unauthorized access.  The only people authorized to use this data are employees properly trained by the service owner and authorized by the Information Security Administrator.

  1. We do not share personal data with other entities.

The possible sending of advertising and marketing materials is always subject to the user’s prior consent.  Each user also has the right to opt out of receiving e-mail messages sent by the service.

  1. The user has the right to inspect, correct and delete personal data

On our site, the My Account page is available after logging in, through which you can see your currently entered data, including personal data, in our system.  The data may be deleted from the database.  However, retaining those necessary in accordance with the relevant provisions of Polish law for the performance of the contract or accounting or security purposes.  To delete the data, send an e-mail to Service.  Deletion of data does not apply to the deletion of information that does not contain personal data.  Leaving this data protects the service in case of possible claims (for evidence purposes).

  1. What is the collected information used for?

The Service uses the collected information to operate its sites and to offer through them the information and services you are looking for, including downloadable materials, to handle technical support requests, to send newsletters and marketing information about the Service’s products and services, products and services from selected partners, but only to the extent requested by you or permitted by law.

  1. Cookies

You may encounter cookies on some of the Service’s websites.  A website sends these small text files to your computer to record your online activity.  Cookies may be used to enable better personalization of websites, to improve certain aspects of their use and to record online activities.  You can disable support for these files in your browser settings, but some website features may no longer be available.

The Service reserves the right to change the Privacy Policy.  Users of the site are bound by the current Privacy Policy, available on this page.
