Social media is increasingly significant as a communication phenomenon. Despite its globalizing nature, they can also be utilized to enhance the functioning of local communities. To date, analyses of localized social media have focused primarily on local integration, paying less attention to the resources embedded within the social networks formed in these spaces. Using data from posts in local social media groups, a thematic analysis was conducted using the BERTopic topic extraction technique. The results were interpreted through the lens of social capital dimensions as proposed by the World Bank.
