The General Counsel’s Office of the Republic of Poland came into existence by a decree of the Chief of State J. Piłsudski on 7th February, 1919. Several months later, in July 1919, the Parliament revoked the decree of the Chief of State and passed the appropriate bill. The General Counsel’s Office of the Republic of Poland protected the public and property interests of the Treasury and the Catholic Church. The judicial replacement and legal opinion were provided in such matters as the interpretation of the Concordat, the property and the protection of the public interest.
