Rules and Regulations of the Scientific Journal ‘European Review of Law and International
Relations’

                                                                                       § 1

  1. The journal ‘European Review of Law and International Relations’ (hereinafter: ‘EL&IRR’, ‘Journal’) is a scientific journal devoted to legal sciences as well as other scientific disciplines in the field of social sciences, in particular international relations, security sciences, and political and administrative sciences.
  2. These regulations define the general rules of operation of the Journal and the scope of competence of individual persons and bodies involved in the publishing process.
  3. The Journal is a quarterly publication. Issues are published in an annual cycle in March, June, September and December (by the end of each of these months).
  4. It is possible to publish (no more than once a year) a combined issue (double issue, with a correspondingly increased number of pages) as well as a special issue (no more than once a year).
  5. The following bodies are involved in the publication process of EL&IRR: the Editorial Board and the Programme Council, appointed by the Rector of the European University of Law and Administration in Warsaw (hereinafter referred to as: ‘EULA’, ‘University’). The Rector of the University exercises substantive supervision over the Journal.


                                                                                        § 2

  1. The Editorial Board of the Journal (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Board’) accepts submissions of articles, commentaries, reviews, etc., which are original scientific works in the field described in § 1(1) (hereinafter referred to as ‘scientific articles’). Scientific articles are published in Polish or English.
  2. The Board consists of:

- the editor-in-chief,

- the deputy editor-in-chief,

- other members of the editorial team, including foreign members, who may also be referred to as ‘advisory members’,

- the editorial secretary,

- the deputy editorial secretary.


                                                                                        § 3

All decisions regarding the substantive content of the Journal are made by the editor-in-chief in cooperation with the chair of the Journal's Programme Council (hereinafter: ‘Council’), members of the editorial board and the editorial secretary. The editorial secretary and his/her deputy are responsible for the organisation of the publishing process.


                                                                                        § 4

  1. The Council is a collective scientific body that provides substantive support to the Editorial Board, in particular by: a) proposing topics, including thematic issues, English-only issues, etc.; b) providing ongoing, comprehensive assessment of the functioning of the Journal.
  2. Meetings of the Council are convened by its chair, who presents the agenda to its members.


                                                                                      § 5

  1. An academic article submitted for publication in EL&IRR should be original, i.e. not published in any other periodical or academic publication. Furthermore, it cannot be submitted to the editorial offices of other academic journals, either previously or simultaneously.
  2. The condition for the publication of a scientific article is granting EULA Publishing House the right to use it in paper form in the Journal and to distribute it for scientific purposes, as well as to publish it in whole or in part in electronic form on the website, as well as in the LEX and Legalis Legal Information Systems.
  3. Before submitting a scientific article, the Author shall make the appropriate declarations on the EPPiSM website.


                                                                                       § 6

Scientific articles should be submitted in electronic form – in accordance with the guidelines indicated on the EL&IRR website.


                                                                                       § 7

The editing of the submitted scientific article should comply with the standards specified by the Publisher, made public on the website in the section ‘About the journal’ – ‘Information for Authors’.


                                                                                        § 8

  1. Scientific articles that do not meet the publication requirements specified in these regulations will not be sent for review. The editorial board reserves the right to edit the submitted article.
  2. Each scientific article published in EPPiSM is first sent for review and is subject to a review procedure in accordance with the principle of double (full) anonymisation (double-blind review), as described on the EL&IRR website.


                                                                                       § 9

After the end of the publication cycle in a given year, a list of reviewers will be published on the Journal's website.


                                                                                     § 10
The Journal's Regulations shall enter into force on the date of their adoption by the Rector of EULA.
