Fotografia jako narzędzie propagandy na przykładzie manipulacji zdjęciami Józefa Stalina

Abstrakt

The article presents the influence of manipulated photographs on the process of building a political career and a positive image of the leader of the USSR – Joseph Stalin. Using photography as one of the tools of propaganda is an effective method of manipulating the awareness and worldview of recipients, and has a significant impact on creating the desired image of the leader. The work analyzes photos of Joseph Stalin, which not only shaped his political career, but above all helped build a personality cult in the years 1945–1953. The method of analyzing graphic materials was used. The research showed that photo manipulation has been practiced since the invention of photography. Joseph Stalin willingly used retouched photos to strengthen his political position and gain the sympathy and gratitude of Russians.
