This article attempts to outline the research on the development of the mediaeval parish network in Poland after 1990. It takes into account both the achievements of the historical community at the Catholic University of Lublin, where work on the development of the parish network in successive territories was usually the subject of master’s theses, as well as other academic centres in Poland in which similar research has been conducted. Methodological aspects of great importance for the results of the research have been discussed. Although it can be said that the researchers have so far outlined the processes of parish network development in individual areas, the postulate of further studies proves to be extremely important. Works re-examining the parish network in a given area, written in the second and third decades of the 21st century, show the possibilities of improving or refining the results developed by earlier researchers.
