The article presents the differences between advocates/attornays-at-law and persons providing legal services who do not practice regulated professions. The author discusses actions taken to protect consumers on the legal services market in Poland, with particular emphasis on actions taken in relation to compensation and „Swiss franc” law firms. The author compares consumer protection on the legal services market in Germany, and then presents de lege ferenda postulates.
