Abstract

The article contains a comprehensive summary of the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights (I Chamber) in the case Żurek v. Poland concerning a judge – a member of the National Council of the Judiciary (NCJ) – being prevented from challenging premature termination of his mandate and the government’s campaign against this judge, a spokesman for the NCJ, known for his criticism of recent reforms in the judiciary.
