Modus operandi and the interview conducted before burglary as a tactical crime method against property

Abstract

This paper evaluates the relationship between the modus operandi and the interview conducted before burglary as a tactical crime method against property. This research involved 683 proceedings against the accused burglary pursuant to art. 279 § 1 of the Criminal Code and remaining under the confluence of the art. 13 § 1 of the Criminal Code, completed with the final judgment and remaning in the jurisdiction all of the Districts Court’s in Kraków between 2010–2014. As an investigation tool author had used conversations and interviews provided by the Officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Kraków. The aim of this study was to illustrate and evaluate precisely the interview users method as the action precedingthe burglary in a prism of using modus operandi media to identify perpetrators of the residentials and commercial objects.
