
This article focuses on the issue related to the functions of horror in the collection of copies of “Histories fresh and uncommon” by Jesuit Michael Jurkowski. In the article a biography of the Jesuit priest is introduced, as well as the history and content of the above-mentioned collection. The author shows how the elements of horror were used by Father Jurkowski in the clergyman’s sermons he preached, and gives a closer look at the construction of the copies.
