
The author in the article analyzes the speeches of Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński to the lawyers. The Primate of the Millennium indicated the four main characteristics that should characterize every lawyer: love of man, love of truth, love of justice, and having the conscience formed in a proper way. In the context of historical events, he emphasized that a lawyer can not act solely on the basis of the so-called “legal ties”, but should also be guided by moral, natural, sociological and psychological norms. Therefore, Cardinal Wyszyński warned against the “excess of laws and regulations”.
