The growth of private companies engaged in space activities and their support by the governments of some countries has made the so far existing international space law increasingly out of step with reality. Of increasing interest to the international community are the plans of space agencies and large private corporations to develop the Cosmos. One of the many topics is plans to populate Mars and other celestial bodies. It can be expected that later in the 21st century manned space expeditions will begin, and in the process international space law will also be updated and modernized. Will the settlement of Mars be accomplished? – about that, it is difficult to say now.
