"Częstochowskie Studia Teologiczne" (abbreviation: CzST, "Czestochowa Theological Studies") is a scientific journal of the Archdiocese of Częstochowa. The journal was established by the third Ordinary of the Częstochowa diocese, Bishop Stefan Bareła in 1973. CzST consists of the scientific community of Częstochowa.
In the foreword to the first issue of the journal, Bishop Stefan Bareła indicated the basic tasks that the newly created journal is to fulfill: "Scientifically reliable publications - in accordance with the mind and spirit of the Church of Christ - should largely contribute to a deeper understanding and implementation of the Second Vatican Council. Published and prepared for printing works of professors and academics will not only be an expression of the intellectual level of the diocese's clergy, but - it should be expected - will contribute to the deepening of the mental formation and church spirit of priests and the laity ”.
The first scientific editor of the journal was Fr. Stanisław Grzybek. The subsequent editors-in-chief were Fr. Ireneusz Skubiś (1975-1986), Fr. Teofil Siudy (1986-2021), Fr. Kamil Zadrożny (2021-). In 2021, the scientific council of the journal was established and the editorial team was expanded. Initially, the publisher of "Częstochowa Theological Studies" was the Diocesan Curia in Częstochowa, and now it is the Częstochowa Archdiocese Publishing House "Regina Poloniae".
