Review process

The procedure for reviewing articles is in line with the recommendations of the Ethics in Science Team at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, presented in the study “Good practices in reviewing procedures in science”, Warsaw 2011 and review of principles contained in the Communication of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 29 May 2013.

 

  1. Submission of an article for publication is tantamount to the author's consent to subjecting him to the reviewing procedure adopted before the Editorial Board of “Czestochowa Theological Studies".
  2. The submitted publications are evaluated first by the Editorial Board.
  3. The articles are then reviewed by two independent and reliable reviewers with at least a PhD degree.
  4. Reviews are prepared free of charge, confidential and anonymously (double blind peer review process).
  5. The work is assigned an editorial number, identifying it at further stages of the publishing process.
  6. Reviewers cannot use knowledge about the work before it is published.
  7. Reviewer submits the paper form with a handwritten signature. You can also submit a scan of the review.
  8. The reviewer assesses if the manuscript meets the following criteria:
    – The title is appropriate to the manuscript content.
    – The abstract accurately reflects the manuscript content.
    – The keywords are appropriate for the manuscript content.
    – The article is original and contributes to the field.
    – The thesis and aim of the research are clearly presented and justified.
    – The manuscript presents the current state of research on the subject.
    – The manuscript is correct in terms of factual and logical accuracy and its structure is appropriate and clear.
    – The manuscript is compliant with academic standards and its language is comprehensible.
    – The manuscript adequately ties to current and representative literature and the citations are correct.
    – The conclusions are appropriate and compatible with the content and aim of the manuscript.
  9. The editors provide the authors with the content of the review in its part justifying the reviewer’s decision to publish or not publish.
  10. The entire material related to the review procedure is stored in the journal's editorial office for a period of five years
  11. The final decision regarding the printing is made by the Editor-in-Chief on the basis of the analysis of the remarks contained in the review and the final version of the article provided by the author.
  12. At least once a year, the Editorial Board shall publish on its website a list of reviewers who reviewed manuscripts for the recently published issues.
