Both in the fathers of the Church and in popular piety from the very beginning, the person of Mary could be seen as a model of beauty and love. Mary’s beauty is expressed in her holiness (“full of grace”) and love for God and all people. The Church refers to this issue in the liturgy, when in the form of the Mass on the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Beautiful Love, she worships the Mother of God, admiring her spiritual beauty.
