Hope plays a crucial part in human life. It brings composure, stimulates to action and it helps to achieve what we desire. Quite often it is defined as an ability to look into future with a trust that all the difficulties and dangers can be overcome. That over-optimistic approach, however, might become illusional. Pope Francis in his Bull Spes non confundit writes about a Christian Hope, the Hope which gives meaning to everything that is senseless and hopeless, the Hope, which is based on the certainty of the eternal life. That papal letter, announced on the Ascension Day, nominates year 2025 to become A Year of the Jubilee, the celebration of which should give an opportunity to a vivid and personal encounter with Jesus himself. As emphasized by The Holy Father, The Christian Hope has its roots in love and flows out the God Son’s heart pierced on the cross. Henceforth the hope should be cherished and rediscovered through the signs of the time.
