This article discusses life and missionary work of the Servant of God, Brother Władysław Prinz CM (1909-1937). He was born in 1909 in Lipinki Szlacheckie. In 1929, he entered the Congregation of Missionary Priests as a candidate for the brotherhood, and in 1931, he took his vows. The very following year, he set off with a group of priests on a mission to southern China, where he worked at the mission station in Wenchow. The following years of his life were marked by suffering caused by an aggressive form of malaria. Drawing on the surviving correspondence of fellow brothers working in China, Brother Prinz’s commitment and efforts in his missionary work have been reconstructed. In 1937, due to his deteriorating health and
for further training, he was sent to northern China, where, during the Sino-Japanese War, he was murdered alongside Bishop Frans Schraven and a group of companions. Their beatification process is currently underway.
