Criminalization of terrorist financing in Art. 165a of the Criminal Code

Abstract

Terrorist financing was criminalized in Polish legislation as a separate offense in 2009. It was placed in article 165a of the Penal Code. A significant change article content was developed by the Ministry of Justice. Draft amendment to the criminal law in this regard was submitted by the Government to the Parliament. The project indicated that the perpetrator is the one who not only works in the immediate intention but in any. It will not only be punished, so far, financing a single perpetrator of crimes of a terrorist nature, but also groups and associations which make this kind of crime. An important role in the preparation of Polish solutions to penalize the financing of terrorism have played international organizations FATF and MONEYVAL. So far, in Poland, not any person was convicted for the financing of terrorism. Only the allegations have been raised citizens of the Islamic religion as the Islamic
State funding through fundraising on his behalf.
