The author analyzes the Canon 225, § 2 of the Code of Canon Law of 1983 and demonstrates how the public employee being a catholic can imbue and perfect the temporal orders with the spirit of the Gospel. The article is divided in three parts: 1) the role of the layman; 2) the work of the public employee being a catholic, and 3) some hypothetical situations in which the public employee being a catholic can act.
