Author Biography
Jerzy Szymik (Rev. Prof. Dr. hab.) – priest of the Katowice Archdiocese, professor emeritus of theological sciences, poet, publicist. Specialises in Christology, methodology of theology, theology of culture, the theology of Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI. From 1986 to 2008 affiliated with the Catholic University of Lublin, since 2005 with the Faculty of Theology of the University of Silesia in Katowice; from 2004 to 2014 member of the International Theological Commission. Author of 70 scientific books, poetry and essays. He has published, among others, Theologia benedicta (3 vols., Katowice 2010–2015) and Prawda i mądrość. Przewodnik po teologii Benedykta XVI [Truth and Wisdom. A Guide to the Theology of Benedict XVI] (Kraków 2019).
