The Penitential Act in the Eucharistic Liturgy as an Encouragement to Conversion and Confession

Abstract

The Penitential Act is an essential element of the celebration of the Mass, close lylinked to thanksgiving, becaus ethroughit the individual believers and the en tire community confesstheir sin and ask God for forgiveness, sothat the celebration canbecome a confessiolaudis in relation to God. In order to graspthis problem itis necessary to define the place of the Penitential Act within the Introductory Rites of the Holy Mass. Againstthis background, one canthen show the significance of thisact and its inspiring meaning for the entire Christian life. It Draw sattention to the need to acknowledgesinfulness in one’s life, sacramental confession and to takeup Christian life in the perspective of the virtue of penance.
