Franciszka Zmysłowska (1865–1949) was the fourth mother superior of the Congregation of the Sisters Servants of the Blessed Virgin Mary, founded in 1878 by priest Honorat Koźmiński. The specific goal of the Assembly was to work for the renewal of Christian faith and morals among peasants. F. Zmysłowska, together with the founder, as superior in the years 1895-1919, adapted the structures of the Congregation to the requirements of the Holy See. Honorat Koźmiński, wanting to obtain papal consent for the Congregation, decided to open a formal novitiate in Nowe Miasto nad Pilicą. Then houses of formation were opened for each province, of which the Congregation had ten. Difficulties in maintaining such a large number of formation houses prompted the Chapter to open one novitiate in Mariewka Opoczyńska in 1902. During the first ten years of Franciszka Zmysłowska's leadership, the Congregation developed very dynamically and acquired the largest number of members in its history. Franciszka Zmysłowska, in accordance with the charisma of the Congregation, founded most of the houses in the countryside, from which most of the sisters came. Under her leadership, the scope of the Assembly's work expanded significantly.
