Teistyczny ewolucjonizm Keitha Warda: rekonstrukcja i krytyka

Abstrakt

Na przestrzeni ostatnich dekad pojawiła się nowa forma materializmu, tzw. nowy ateizm, kwestionująca ideę obiektywnego celu we Wszechświecie. Wielu współczesnych myślicieli, nie zgadzając się z takim stanowiskiem, tłumaczy pochodzenie i naturę Wszechświata poprzez odwołanie się do rzeczywistości transcendentnej. Jeden z nich, Keith Ward, przekonuje, że wiara w Boga nie tylko pozostaje w zgodzie ze współczesną nauką, lecz twierdzi również, że odwołanie się do Najdoskonalszej Istoty, która całą istniejącą rzeczywistość stwarza swoim wolnym aktem, jest logicznie spójnym i zarazem najlepszym wyjaśnieniem pochodzenia i natury Wszechświata. Jeśli Wszechświat został stworzony przez Boga, to z pewnością w określonym celu. Początkowe stany fizyczne i prawa rządzące Wszechświatem są takie, a nie inne, ponieważ wydają się dokładnie tym, co jest wymagane, aby umożliwić specyficzne wewnętrzne dobra tego Wszechświata. Wyjaśnienie osobowe, w kategoriach celów i wartości, różni się od wyjaśnienia naukowego w kategoriach początkowych stanów fizycznych i przewidywalnych praw. Jeśli chcemy wyjaśnić nasz Wszechświat, do wyjaśnienia naukowego należy dodać wyjaśnienie osobowe.
