This article analyzes the logico-linguistic approach to the Thomasian doctrine of analogy contained in the philosophical thought of Thomas de Vio (Cajetan) and Francis Suarez. The study of the issue of analogy was carried out in terms of distinguishing the divisions of analogy created by Cajetan and Suarez, in terms of pointing out the basic analogy in the indicated divisions, and presenting the difficulties associated with the adopted divisions of analogy. The work seeks to substantiate the claim that the interpretations of the Thomasian doctrine of analogy made by Cajetan and Francis Suarez have established until modern times a questionable approach to analogy, and that the result of interpretive errors concerning the Thomasian doctrine of analogy is the established essentialism of Thomistic metaphysics.
