The return of Religious Education to Polish schools is a major event in the history of Polish catechesis in the post-war period and in the European catechetical tradition. Analysis of Polish legal provisions concerning Religious Education proves that its presence in public preschools and schools is a matter of course, stable and sustainable. In general, state and educational authorities demonstrate a willingness to cooperate with Churches and other religious associations. This fully safeguards the rights of parents, students and teachers of Religious Education. Positive developments concerning school catechesis prove the validity of religious and moral education. Religious Education is a major element of the entire Polish system of education because it is based on the right vision of man and social life.
