The administrative proceedings are the only one of the three principal legal proceedings (apart from the civil and criminal proceedings), in which an entirely correct decision without any, even insignificant defect, can be challenged. The remedies that make up the system of internal control of administrative decisions in Poland may aim to verify and/or challenge a decision. Verifying a decision may be conducted from the standpoint of legality and/or expediency, or binding force. Challenging a decision may be effected by quashing, amending or declaring it invalid.
