The article presents the spirituality of the diocesan priest in light of the contemporary Magisterium of the Church. The adopted time frame covers the period from the Second Vatican Council up to the year 2021, outlining the formation of seminarians preparing for ordination to the presbyterate, with an adaptation of the Church's guidelines within the context of Poland. In the face of ongoing discussions regarding the reception of the most recent council in the Church, the issue of a priest and his identity is not something that can be overlooked. Identity, understood in a wider context, also includes its specific aspect expressed in the term "spirituality of the diocesan priest". Ambiguities in terminology and definitions are the main cause of misunderstandings. Therefore, the aim of this article is to examine this issue and answer the question: What is spirituality of a priest according to the Magisterium of the Church?
