The present paper continues a series of publications on Eastern and Western Fathers of the Church in biblical catechesis. The Fathers who are recognized with the titles of the Great Doctors of the Church were selected for presentation. The series is neither focused on patristic research, nor concerned in presentation of the broad spectrum of topics related to a particular Father of the Church in catechesis, but it is intended to draw the practical application for biblical catechesis out of the life and works of Fathers.
The present paper is dedicated to St. Gregory the Great. There were presented propositions for biblical catechesis resulting from the realization of purposes of gaining knowledge, acquiring skills and abilities, and building attitudes. Also the six basic tasks of catechesis are referred to.
