The history of the Ursuline Sisters monastery in Siercza in 1919-2010

Abstract

Polish monasteries of the Ursuline Sisters were established mainly in the cities in consideration o f the management of the secondary schools for young girls made by the sisters. In the beginning of 20th century, still in the period of the autonomic monasteries existence, in Polish lands the Ursuline Sisters started to buy rural estates, which were economic background area for the schools and for the cloisters existed in the cities and simultaneously could be the place of rest for the sisters and for their schoolgirls. This article is dedicated to the history of the cloister of the Ursuline Sisters in Siercza.
