The aim of this study is to show the development of Fr Bronislaw Markiewicz's interior life up to the moment when, after travelling to Italy, he came into contact with St John Bosco and joined the Salesians. He was 43 years old at the time, and the whole spiritual journey that led him to Turin and then to the founding of his own religious institution is of particular importance for understanding the subsequent events and the further development of his spirituality. The formative years of his spirituality, his youth and early manhood, are particularly important for the rest of his life.
