The objective of this paper was to analyse and assess the phenomenon of the employment discrimination and some of the forms it can take. This paper results from the author’s particular interest in the subject of a variety of forms of employment
discrimination. The essence of this work is to illustrate the complexity of this occurrence. The author tried to pay a special attention to the discrimination based on race, nationality, disability, age, wage discrimination or discrimination based on the use of disciplinary sanctions. The author’s intention is also to familiarize readers of this paper with the areas of Polish labour law and with the European Union regulations, which constitute adopted, legal solutions to protect employees against discrimination in their workplace as well as employees working on the basis of civil law contracts or members of company’s management board.
