Abstract

The purpose of this article is to outline the history of the decline or growth of religious orders and congregations operating in the territory of the Przemyśl diocese over a period of more than 150 years. It points out certain groups of causes which, in a given historical context, hindered the activity of religious communities, as well as certain regularities which enabled their development.
