In his preface, Bishop Ignacy Tokarczuk, shepherd of the diocese of Przemyśl on the occasion of its 600th anniversary, synthetically encouraged deep scientific reflection. He noted that the history of the Diocese of Przemyśl can be divided into four unequal periods: 1) the period before the Partition of Poland, 2) the period of imprisonment, 3) the interwar years, and 4) from the Second World War to the present. He emphasised that the jubilee of the diocese is a good opportunity to thank all those who have formed this community in the past centuries.
