The author analyzes the place of the periodical "Nasza Przeszłość" in Polish post-war historiography and in the scientific works of historians. It draws attention to the important bibliography on the first 70 volumes, compiled by Stanisław Sroka in 1991, which facilitates orientation in the richness of the periodical's content. Then, the author analyzes the last 16 volumes that have not yet been included in the bibliography to identify the main research directions and less represented areas. It emphasizes the consistent implementation of the periodical's program, which was outlined by its creator, Father Alfons Schletz, focusing mainly on the history of Catholic culture in Poland. The author notes that the journal is increasingly taking up the issues of modern history and expresses hope that this topic will develop. To sum up, the author states that "Our Past" continues to be the central body dealing with the history of the Polish Church in the social and political context. He also appreciates the role of the periodical in expanding the research field of Church historians and opening up to the work of younger adepts of historical science. It also suggests that it is worth considering expanding the thematic scope to include European issues. Additionally, it encourages us to take into account difficult and sensitive topics that have so far been omitted in church historiography.
