Abstract

The article presents the history of geographic profiling otherwise known as geoprofiling or criminal analysis of the place of scene of crime. It is refers to foreign originators and researchers who conducted syntheses presents in details the above issue. In the study not run out of references to the theory of criminology associated with the subjects discussed, as well as indications of specialized software, its application and certification bodies of geo-specialists. Geo-profiling is presented as a tool of modern, highly specialized and efficient, which in the future could also be used in Polish conditions.
