Information about the organs in the “Chronicle Diocese of Przemyśl” in 1947-1992

Abstract

This study is the third one about the organs included in “Chronicle Diocese of Przemyśl”. It covers the years 1947- 1992. At that time the chronicle was published in 1947-1950 and 1957-1992. From 1950 to 1957 the publication was suspended by the decision of contemporary authorities. From 1993 it is released as “Chronicle of Archdiocese od Przemyśl”. During the years 1947-1992 39 annuals were issued and the information about the organs was found in 14 annuals. The information is mostly short. This refers to the fact of existence of the organs, the year of building, ceremonies of devotion of the organ, renovations done or in a few causes the number of the stops. In one case, the name of the organ builder and shortened inventory description of the instrument were given. The present study was created while collecting materials connected with history of the organs in the churches of Rzeszów diocese. The collected information is ordered according to the scheme: the city, the department title, in which information about the organ is available, information about the organ and the number “Chronicles” (year, notebook, page).
