Abstract

Technological advances over the recent years have led to a rapid development of artificial intelligence. Although there is no formal definition describing AI, we can assume that it is software that simulates human intelligence. Artificial intelligence
generates many positive outcomes, yet at the same time, it can lead to violations of the fundamental rights of individuals. Therefore, it is necessary to regulate AI so that it can operate in a safe and trustworthy manner. The purpose of this article is to
present and discuss the legal aspects and framework for artificial intelligence under the European Union law.
